Pools and Spas:

Do regular leak checks-ups. A leak in the pool area can waste 1,000 gallons or more per day.

Pay particular attention to your automatic water filler. If it's faulty, your water bill suffers.

Keep track of the amount of chemicals you normally use. 		Swimming Pool Leak Detection
An increase in quantity used can also be a sign of a leak.

Use a pool/spa cover to cut down on water loss (and heating costs) caused by evaporation.


Pool Safety Tips:
  1. Adult supervision is essential. Never let kids swim alone!
  2. If your pool is not fenced in, fence it!
  3. Regularly check that the gate latches securely and that spring mechanisms work properly. Regularly oil the hinges and latches.
  4. Don't allow children to play in the pool area. Remove all toys, tricycles - anything a child might want to get - from the vicinity.
  5. Keep items which can be used for climbing (tables, chairs, large play toys, and ladders) away from fences.
  6. Remove any trees, bushes or other things that might block a clear view of the pool from the house.
  7. Keep the water within 3 to 4 inches from the top of the pool. This will make climbing out of the pool easier.
  8. Keep all pool chemical supplies and equipment locked up at all times.
  9. Learn CPR. It takes only a couple hours and may save a life.
  10. Keep lifesaving equipment, such as a pole, life preserver and rope - in the pool area. Hang them from the fence so people won't trip on them.
  11. Have a phone handy to the pool area. Do not answer the phone while your children are in the pool; use the phone only to call 911 should a problem occur.
